As principal of Patrasayer Mahavidyalaya it gives me pleasure to welcome the visitors of the website of our college. Patrasayer Mahavidyalaya, a degree college affiliated to Bankura University, is a new college in the rural area of Bankura district. It was established in 2005. The mission of the college is “making higher education accessible to the poor but meritorious students of this economically backward region”. The vision of the college is “committed to provide education for knowledge, wisdom and more self- reliance. The college runs B.A Honours as well as General Course in eight subjects: Bengali, English, History, Sanskrit, Geography, Philosophy, Sociology and Education. It also runs B.A in General course in two other subjects: Political Science and Physical Education.

       The main strength of the college is the existence of cordial relationships among teachers, non-teaching staff and students. The teachers of the college are well qualified and dedicated to their duties. The non-teaching staff of the college serve their best for the smooth functioning of the activities of the college. The students are well behaved and obedient. Apart from academic activities the college also conducts commendable extension activities through NSS. The rural youth of this locality needs to make the best possible use of the facilities being provided at their door steps. They need to acquire the skills of a responsible citizen. This college shall be aspiring to serve as a facilitator and service provider for all the interested ad motivated students of the area and try to build the necessary infrastructure, services and facilities to equip them with required skills.

      As principal of the college I appreciate the guidance of the members of the Governing Body and the Cooperation of teaching and non-teaching staff in the endeavour towards excellence.
